Meet Obadiah Jallah, one of our inspiring learners at Orange Digital Center!Like many young Liberians, Obadiah is a passionate tech enthusiast who longed for a space to nurture and grow his skills. He found that space at the Orange Digital Center, where he enrolled in several of our Arduino programs and training sessions. In 2024, Obadiah led a team of young innovators under the name Eden Tehk at the #OrangeSummerChallenge, where they pitched their groundbreaking ideaโa Smart Storage Unit designed to reduce post-harvest losses of agricultural products in Liberia. This Smart Storage Unit uses IoT technologies to monitor temperature, humidity, and ethylene levels, creating an optimized storage environment that helps farmers preserve up to 90% of their produceโultimately boosting their income. With Liberia experiencing an average 35% post-harvest loss across crop categories (FAO, 2024), Edenโs solution aims to make a significant difference.Obadiahโs journey through our trainings in electronics, robotics, programming, and innovation equipped him with the practical skills needed to develop real-world solutions. Today, he runs the Obj Arduino Micro STEM Education Training Center, where he mentors young people, prepares students for science fairs, and inspires innovation and creativity among Liberian youth.Weโre proud to support young minds like Obadiahโs and to be part of their journey in using technology to solve real societal challenges.
