Monrovia, Liberia — In a powerful demonstration of national harmony, Orange Foundation Liberia recently concluded a cross-county donation drive aimed at supporting both the Muslim and Christian communities during their respective holy seasons.
Spanning across three counties, the initiative was designed to honor the dual significance of Ramadan and the Lenten season moving toward Easter. By providing essential perishable goods and cleaning supplies, the Foundation sought to ensure that the spirit of sacrifice and reflection is met with the comfort of a shared meal and a dignified environment.
A Season of Dual Reflection
For many Liberians, this time of year represents a deep spiritual journey. Whether through the fasts of Ramadan or the solemnity of Lent, the themes of self-discipline and giving are a common thread.
"At Orange Foundation, we don't see two different groups; we see one vibrant, resilient Liberian family," said a representative of the Foundation. "By bringing food to the table and cleaning products to the community, we are celebrating the peace and unity that allow us to practice our faiths side-by-side."
Impact Across Three Counties
The outreach targeted three key regions, focusing on high-need areas where the impact of the donations would be felt most immediately:
- Perishable Goods: Fresh food items were distributed to ensure families could break their fasts (Iftar) and celebrate their Easter feasts with nutrition and joy.
- Cleaning & Sanitation: In the spirit of "Cleanliness is next to Godliness," a wide array of cleaning products were donated to mosques, churches, and community centers to support a healthy environment for worship.
