Orange Foundation & JFK launches 1st ever oncology unitmardi, 30 avril 2024
It is estimated that there are over 2,000 new cases of cancer and approximately 1,600 related deaths each year in Liberia, and the rate is anticipated to nearly double by 2030. Until today, April 30, 2024, Liberia did not have a dedicated Oncology Lab to tackle this growing health crisis.
Orange Liberia through its humanitarian arm - Orange Foundation is leading the fight against cancer in Liberia with the branding and equipment purchase for the first-ever ONCOLOGY LAB in the Country. This is a step in eliminating the need of referring patients to other countries for further diagnosis and providing access to an Immunochemistry Analyzer/Machine for the mixture of reagents, thereby saving time and precious lives.
As part of this initiative, Orange Foundation has generously donated:
· 1 immunochemistry machine to enhance diagnostic capabilities within the unit.
· 10 state-of-the-art reclining beds for patient comfort and recovery.
· 3 high-definition 65-inch televisions to provide entertainment and relaxation for patients during their stay.
· 1 DSTV dual view system to offer a wide range of viewing options.
· 6 visitor chairs to accommodate family and friends of patients.
· 1 conference table with 10 chairs for meetings and discussions among medical staff.
· 3 office desks and chairs to facilitate administrative tasks within the unit.
· 4 water dispensers for hydration needs.
· 1 refrigerator specifically designated for medications to ensure their integrity and safety.
· 12 drip stands to support intravenous treatments.
