Get to know Maker Faire Cairo!

Maker Faire is an annual event that celebrates the maker movement and is considered the largest and most important event in Egypt. It brings together manufacturers, innovators, artists to showcase their skills and share knowledge, as well as science exchanges for all those who love to create and are passionate about learning.

Each year, Maker Faire Cairo hosts around 12000 creative people, makers, crafters, and scientists from all ages and backgrounds have gathered to showcase their innovative projects, and ideas to learn and share experiences. 

During the event,  People show what they are making, and share what they are learning, each one of them showcasing their pride project to the event goals that are made up of young makers, families, and also experts in their respective fields which creates a general eco-system of people and communities willing to build projects/products.

Maker Faire Cairo 2023

Orange sponsored Maker Faire Cairo in cooperation with Fab Lab Egypt  for the 7th year in a row while this year we brought ODC to the makers with a dedicated booth showing ODC success story, introducing its sections and programs to the makers and engaging attendees in different ODC workshops while attendees created Orange Cash wallets.

Maker Faire Cairo During COVID-19 pandemic

The event was held online in July 2021 for the first time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, 

The event included workshops, talks, discussion sessions, and various webinars, in addition to training sessions on how to make, build and assemble handmade tools and educational tools along with other events.

The attendees viewed the event from various countries other than Egypt including Syria, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Germany, then the United States of America, 25 talks and panel discussions took place during the week of the event, which featured more than 41 speakers.
